Mommy's Zach Attack!

It has actually been a year...

Over the past year our family has grown. We now have "Wolfy" the bunny, and soon to be baby Tyler. Zachary has grown a ton and continues to amaze me with his new skills and language. He started preschool about a year ago. He loves to learn and play. His best friends are Noah, Claire, and Uchechi. This summer he was old enough to enjoy "camp," where they swim every day and do a VBS type rotation. The theme is Heroes of the Bible. His favorite songs are a few he learned at camp. They go, "Our God is so big, So strong and so nice, Our God is so nice like Ice Ice Baby" or, "We are the sun and we are hot, and when it is cold we are not, there is no wind, there is no rain there is only us and then our friends." His last day was Friday because Baby Tyler will be here this Friday. Grandma and Grandpa will be here on Tuesday and spend a few days, then Nana and Papa will spend some time here.

We are still loving New Orleans even though Claire and her family moved to South Carolina and we recently found out some of our closest friends (Josh, Mandy, and Kai) are moving to Memphis. We know God is with them both and can't wait to see them again.

This is Zachary and his new friend Claire. She spent the night last Wednesday after church. She was so good! I am so glad Zachary has a good friend! Her dad is a pastor with Stephen at FBC Saint Rose, and her mom is awesome! So glad we met them, and Zachary has someone to play with his own age!

Last Saturday we went to the zoo. It was raining so all we got to see was the reptile house... But this cool green snake was shedding hes skin! kinda weird, kinda cool!

Hey guys!

Last night we were voted to be apart of a very special church! Stephen and I are SO excited to be here in New Orleans and under the leadership of not only a great person but a true man of God! We have a new church family at First Baptist Church Saint Rose and it is so cool! It is exciting to see God's plan unfold in front of you!

Here is a little update into that:

As most of you know we came to New Orleans in January not really knowing what to expect. Several people thought we were crazy moving with no jobs and a little boy to take care of. Why Stephen would give up his Computer Engineering job in Atlanta was beyond comprehension. To the world that does sound stupid but to a Christ follower God's will will always bring you a peace beyond understanding.

Well since we moved in January I have found two kids (a brother and sister) to watch, and although some days I wounder why people have kids, I really know the kids need someone stable and someone to be there for them. They have grown up so much and I even got a chance to teach the little girl how to ride her bike! They really have been a blessing! Stephen has done wonderful in school and although he had a hard time at first is really is doing well with time management. It is so nice that he has been able to spend so much time with Zachary too!

Speaking of Zachary, he is growing up SO fast! At Saint Rose he met a little girl and became instant friends. After the first night he came home and told me that she was beautiful and was so excited when he got to go play with her on Wednesday! It really starts early doesn't it :)

This is me and Zachary... We were at the Mississippi River. Zachary loves to see the river and street cars.

Welcome to New Orleans! We went to a few Mardi Gras parades. We made sure we went to the ones during the day and off the crazy path. They are actually pretty family friendly if you know where NOT to go...

This is Zachary and Daddy... Zachary loved catching stuff as long as it was thrown to Mommy or Daddy.

Both of our Moms and Dads came to visit and we really were glad to see family!! We really enjoy New Orleans but it isn't like home.

It's funny, living in Atlanta I always thought people in New Orleans were wasting time and money. It seemed they just were not making progress, I mean it's been 5 years since Katrina and New Orleans still isn't rebuilt. Well... being there has changed that thought. The people there are not worried about getting New Orleans back to the way it was, they are worried about living. So many people there are struggling to have dinner on the table. The businesses are just now starting to reopen, and most just left empty buildings. How do you find work with no where to work? If you are like me you wonder why they didn't just move away, but the people don't have anywhere to go... Think about this: The weather channel calls for a big storm coming in to your area. You have one of two options, stay or go... most would say go right? Well what if you don't have enough to stay two nights in a hotel room, everything you have worked hard for is in you house, and you don't have anywhere to go? If you stay the weather might get a little bit rough
and if it does flood if you are there to get the "good" stuff high enough if won't get ruined right?Well as we know the water kept flooding and stayed for a while... Unlike the flooding in Atlanta, which was hard enough, that water went higher than bridges and houses and basically flooded an entire region. So you have the roadways messed up, the houses messed up, buildings messed up, you have families divided, and not just a few and ENTIRE region. BUT God is still in control. If God wanted to he could have wiped out ALL of America, but he didn't. God is doing something in New Orleans that could not have been done before this. He has united the people. He has weeded out that community so they all bond, and with bonding it makes it so much easier to tell people about Jesus. God didn't just tell people to trust Him and leave them alone. Jesus was born, lived with us, ate, and talked with us. How cool is that!! He loves us and wants to be with us forever! And it is as simple as inviting Him into your heart. I can't tell you everything is going to be perfect today but if you know Jesus I can promise you it will be a BEAUTIFUL eternity!!

Mommy and Daddy gave me my first Christmas gift! They found it on craigslist! They said it was to big to hide and I wouldn't know any better. What does Mommy and Daddy know :)

We found this today for $40! It came with track, the table, and a ton of trains. Zachary doesn't know about the trains (they will be saved for Christmas) The table is really cool it has two storage bins to put the track and everything else in :)

I went potty again today! I am getting better but I am still having a lot of accidents. I am doing about 50/50. Mommy and Daddy think I am doing GREAT and I am getting an ice pop every time I go. I got 3 today!!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday night I went pee pee on the potty. Today I went on it three times and only had TWO accidents. One was at the gym because I got scared (it was a big potty!)

4th of July

This was the first day of our 4th of July weekend. Mommy and Grandma were driving to the cabin and saw a train. They followed it so I could see it and they found a cute little town. They stopped by this store and found me a few John Deere shirts and two wooden trains to play with.

Later that week we stopped by the "NOC". It was just down from the cabin. We threw rocks into the river and watched some boats come down.

This is me and my new sunglasses. I was ready to get away from the water. It was cold and I didn't want to get wet.

Here we go! This is me and Daddy getting ready to leave.

That night Uncle Patrick had a tummy ache and the next day we went to see him in the hospital. When we got the the hospital I saw Aunt Holly and a helicopter!! Then we came home after Uncle Patrick had surgry and we cleaned up the cabin.

Wednesday night we had a birthday party for Aunt Holly! I liked the birthday cake!! Then we drove to see Nana and Papa! I had so much fun!! The next day I got to see my Mimi. I loved on her and played in her room. I also got to see Uncle Dude! Later I took a nap while Mommy went to Nana's on Papa's bike. :) Then Daddy came to see us and we saw Papa Joe!

I guess things are back to normal now but I liked all of the attention.

Today we learned about how David was kind to Mephibosheth.

I got to spend the night on Friday night and Saturday night! Mommy and Daddy went Saturday morning and helped paint at the church then went and saw a concert. It was Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

On Sunday afternoon Mommy and Daddy came and picked me up but I wasn't feeling good. I was really tired and Monday I slept ALL day. I wasn't up but maybe an hour all day. Tuesday Mommy took me to the Doctor and she said I had a virus, but I am feeling much better today!

Summer Camp!

Summer camp has started. We did a spy theme. We had three teams (blue, red, and yellow) and the "academy" kids (the little ones like me). It was a lot of fun! Our lesson for today was "Friends put others first". We learned how Abraham put Lot first by letting him choose his land.

Ok, last week I got to go to church and play while mommy worked. It was a lot of fun and I got to play with my friend Kitty and Emma. I like girls :)
On Friday my Nana and Papa came to Atlanta and I went to see them. I saw a lot of Harleys! I really liked them and I still tell Mommy about them!

We went to Nana and Papa's house yesterday. It took "all day" to get there! I have cookies and apples in the picture but I still wasn't happy.

Today we went outside and played. I played ball, chalk, and I played on my Harley-Davidson!

Then Daddy came home for lunch!! I am not wearing any clothes because I spilt really cold milk on me and Daddy rescued me! Apparently I had a long day because I have been asleep for about 3.5 hours and Mommy is lucky to get 1 hour.

Also, my plants are getting big. I planted these last week with Mommy. We had 6 flowers and a watermelon seed, then Mommy decided to plant a garlic one.

After Mommy and Daddy picked me up we went to the park! They had slides and "ducks". We also watched some baseball. They were 8 years old and I said "GO BRAVES".
